Daylight Savings Time Info

Beginning in 2007, daylight saving time (DST) will be extended in the United States. DST will start on March 9, 2008, which is three weeks earlier than usual, and it will end on November 2, 2008, which is one week later than usual. This results in a new DST period that is four weeks longer than in previous years.

As a result all PCs will have to be patched (automatically or manually depending on what operating system you are using) to compensate for this change and resolve issues that will arise if the PC's time is off by an hour. This can prevent users from being able to login to the network, cause calendar events to be off by 1 hour and software (such as the CHRIS Rentals System converter) to not operate correctly. You should run the DSTCheck script below to see if you already have this patch installed (your system administrator may have already addressed this issue). The script can create a link on your desktop to install the patch if it is not already installed.

Click here if you have the required patch - If using Internet Explorer, click Open, then Run. If an antivirus warning appears, please click "Accept this script" and repeat these steps. If using Netscape/FireFox, click Save and then save it to Desktop. Then close your web browser and double click on "DSTCheck".
