Access your web site using FrontPage

Due to security concerns, we do not currently host the FrontPage Server Extensions on our web server. If you need a response form, please contact HAL Systems and we can set one up for you at no charge. We recommend using either Namo WebEditor (easy to use, what we use ourselves) or Macromedia DreamWeaver (has higher learning curve, but widely used) for updating your web site. Here is the procedure for accessing your web site in FrontPage.

Download site to your hard drive
Publish site to our server
Delete file from our server

Download site to your hard drive

  1. Go to File-Import
  2. Go to Import Web Wizard
  3. Put in the location for the new web (i.e. c:\website)
  4. Click OK
  5. The Import Web Wizard will run
  6. Select From a World Wide Web site and type in the URL of your web site (i.e. www.halsys.com)
  7. Click Next
  8. Uncheck Limit to 500 KB
  9. Click Next
  10. Click Finish
FrontPage will then download your web site into the directory you chose. To prevent FrontPage 2002 from trying to use the extensions, go to Tools-Page Options, click on the "Compatibility" tab and uncheck "Enabled with Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions". If using FrontPage 2003, you need to go to Tools-Page Options, click on the "Authoring" tab and then change "Frontpage and SharePoint" technologies to None.

  1. Select File-Publish Web
  2. Put in ftp://ftp.halsys.com/

  4. Put in the FTP username and password for your site when prompted
  5. Click OK

Delete file from our server

  1. Select File-Publish Web
  2. Put in ftp://ftp.halsys.com/
  3. Click Publish
  4. Put in the FTP username and password for your site when prompted
  5. Click OK
  6. If you don't see the right hand side of the window (ftp.halsys.com), click the Show button
  7. Select the file on the right hand side you would like to Delete and press the Delete key.
  8. You will also need to delete the file from the left hand side if you don't want it to be published to the server again
