Using the Spam Filter

  1. Bring up your web browser
  2. Go to http://webmail.halsys.com:5631/cgi/user.cgi. You can add this to your favorites by going to Favorites-Add to Favorites or to your bookmarks by going to Bookmarks-Bookmark this Page.
  3. In the username box, put in your email address and email password
  4. On the left hand side, click the Friends button
  5. On the right hand side, click the Quarantine/Pending button
  6. You should be shown a list of messages that were flagged by the server as spam. If one of these messages is not spam and you would like to receive it, click the checkbox to the left of the message and click the Release button on the bottom. If this message is from a sender you normally correspond with and you want to allow all messages from this person, click the Allow button (add to friends) and messages from their email address will not be marked as spam. To delete everything in the box, click the "Select all" link and then click the Delete button.
  7. It is a good idea to check your spam area a few times a week in case you missed a message you wanted to receive. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the spam filter by clicking on the Settings button at the top of the page and changing the value for "Hold when rating is". The lower the number, the more agressive the filter will be but the more good messages may get flagged as spam. The higher the number, the safer the filter will be but more spam messages will be received in your mailbox.
  8. Number of days spam messages are held in the filter : 14 days
